Everything started from the day summer vacation began.
While surfing the internet, I discovered that Tongcheng was running a promotion for a 99 yuan international flight blind box during the summer vacation. With a playful mindset, I was lucky enough to successfully open a ticket from Zhengzhou to Hong Kong.
Coincidentally, two friends from the group were also in Guangzhou at that time, so we hit it off and decided to go to Hong Kong together.
On the evening of July 22, just after arriving at Zhengzhou Airport, I felt something was off as soon as I got off the subway; it was drizzling outside, and there was thunder. Such weather is definitely not a good omen for the airport. After checking in and completing security, the flight was delayed until ten o'clock at night. I felt uneasy and immediately decided to cancel the hotel in the transit city of Quanzhou. Not long after, the weather outside confirmed my unease:
At eleven o'clock at night, the airport arranged for people to go to the hotel to rest. After a short three-hour sleep, I was called up to head back to the airport. Thus, I had the rare experience of having two boarding passes with security stamps:
The plane took off at five in the morning, with a total delay of 437 minutes. I must say, watching the sunrise from the plane, parallel to the sun, is quite an unforgettable experience.
Arriving at the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, Quanzhou, it was already seven in the morning. I took the bus slowly into the city, had a meal, and then returned to the airport. Interestingly, I went to the domestic transfer service desk at the airport, and an unfamiliar staff member with international tickets allowed me to enjoy a meal at Dicos, which I shouldn't have been eligible for.
When going through border control, I was successfully stopped by the staff and couldn't use the self-service. The border control staff indeed asked everything, inquiring about where I was from, what I did, where I lived, when I would return, where I was coming from, and wanted to see my return train ticket and hotel booking in Hong Kong. After passing through border control, I successfully obtained the stamp on my boarding pass:
After getting off the plane, of course, I had to experience Hong Kong's expensive airport express, which costs 70 HKD for a one-way ticket, a rather shocking price. However, since it was a rare visit, I still bought it:
Arriving in Kowloon, I checked into a small hotel. I experienced what it means for land to be so precious in Hong Kong. The hotel we stayed in was in a building. The entire floor had only ten rooms, and our room looked like this:
Stepping outside, my first impression was the high cost of living in Hong Kong; I casually had a meal at McDonald's and spent 43 HKD:
In the evening, I wandered around and took some random photos:
The next day was just about city walking and strolling around. While aimlessly wandering through a supermarket, I discovered this:
Hong Kong's supermarkets really have everything (laughs).
In the afternoon, we decided to eat at the famous Chungking Mansions in Hong Kong. Just as we arrived at the entrance, a few guys were trying to pull people in, so after wandering around for a while not knowing what to eat, we followed them to an Indian restaurant on the first floor. The menu was filled with Indian dish names I couldn't understand, so we just ordered based on the pictures:
After the meal, we followed someone to the gaming hall to play some dance games and then experienced taking a taxi in Hong Kong:
On the third day at noon, we returned to Shenzhen, and thus the two-day trip to Hong Kong came to an end. But at that moment, Typhoon Gemi surprised me:
Due to the typhoon entering Henan, all regular trains on the Jingguang Railway were suspended, and most high-speed trains were also halted. That's right, I couldn't go home.
No big deal, I directly changed my ticket to the next day's train, which meant an 18-hour hard seat...
Since I decided to stay an extra day in Guangzhou, and my friends said that ACGHK in Hong Kong had signed photos of Nana. So early the next morning, I took the bus from Guangzhou to Shenzhen and went to Hong Kong again.
I started queuing at two-thirty in the afternoon and stood in line until five-thirty, finally entering the venue.
The crowded venue couldn't stop the enthusiasm of Hong Kong's ACGHK fans, and I wandered around the venue until almost eight in the evening. Although I didn't manage to buy the signed photo, I was still very happy and gained a lot of fun things:
Taking the bus back to Guangzhou, it was already one in the morning. It was my first time walking alone on the street so late, which was quite a different experience (?)
On the way back to Guangzhou, the train was once again suspended, and by then, there were no more train options to change to. My return home was pushed back another day:
Well, staying an extra day just means more fun, so I headed to the Canton Tower:
After spending two days wandering around Guangzhou, finally on July 29 at noon, I boarded the train home, and this trip to the south came to a hasty end.
If you ask me how I feel about this hastily decided trip to the south, I can tell you: it was very worthwhile. Although I experienced various things along the way, I was still very happy in the end. At the end of this travelogue, I want to thank all my friends who accompanied me during the trip!
